Not #1..not the 2nd healthiest..not even the 10th!! Why is that?? Don't you wonder why Americans have more heart bypass and stint operations than ever but our cardiovascular disease rates continue to climb? Don't you wonder why asthma rates in children are 100 times worse today than when pollution was at its peak in the 1960's? Why Autism is on the rise? Obesity?HealthAngelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00531965744139396139noreply@blogger.comBlogger129125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9007009942765224998.post-64889533322952981692024-02-09T12:56:00.000-08:002024-02-09T12:56:04.280-08:00Can a chiropractor help with migraine?<p> </p><p><br /></p><div style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; color: #231f20; font-family: "Proxima Nova", "Proxima Nova Fallback", sans-serif; font-size: 18px;"><p class="css-dmtxcr" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; font-size: 28px; line-height: 40px; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding-top: 0px;">Evidence on the effectiveness of chiropractic for migraine headaches is limited. <p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-indent: .5in;">I have long been a
proponent of a non-dairy diet.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>My 4
children were raised that way and are healthier than most.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>My youngest two, ages 16 and 14, have never had
dairy since birth, nor has their mother during their nursing.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Both youngsters have less colds and sickness
than any of their peers.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I counsel my
patients to avoid dairy at all costs. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-indent: .5in;">So what’s the
problem with dairy you may ask?<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-indent: .5in;">Cow’s milk and
milk products are the most pervasive food allergy causing substances on the
planet that are both easily obtained and widely used as foods. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><span style="color: #020100;">A protein in milk,
casein, appears to be the major cause of adverse reactions.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Casein is in milk of all forms, including
lactose-free or low-lactose products.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>Casein is a very large and convoluted protein, and it is often mistaken
for a foreign substance by our immune systems.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>And truly it is, because cow’s milk is meant for baby cows, not humans.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="Style" style="line-height: 150%; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; text-indent: .5in;">A human infant’s intestinal tract is
designed to digest mother’s breast milk from birth to at least nine months of
age, preferably to 12 months. Breast milk contains immune factors which protect
against foreign substances. Breast milk contains three times the lactose, one
third the calcium, a more absorbable form of iron, and higher amounts of essential
fatty acids than cow's milk. Cow’s milk formula feeding prematurely exposes an
infant's fragile intestine to cow's milk, and through a long series of
maladaptive biological functions, the infant becomes sensitive (allergic) to
that cow's milk.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="Style" style="line-height: 150%; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; mso-margin-top-alt: auto;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Milk
Allergy and Lactose Intolerance are not the same issue<span style="color: black;">.
</span>Lactose intolerance means that the enzyme lactase is not produced by the
body in sufficient quantity to digest lactose (milk sugar) resulting in gastric
symptoms, such as cramping, gas, bloating and/or diarrhea<span style="color: black;">. </span>One can be lactose intolerant and yet ingest low<span style="color: black;">-</span>lactose, or lactose-free milk and dairy products
without ill effects. Allergy to casein is another matter, and has nothing to do
with lactose.<span style="color: #020100;"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-indent: .5in;"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-indent: .5in;">Why, then, is our
American culture so hung up on cow’s milk?<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>The problem is multi-factorial and has both cultural and economic
roots.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Milk and milk products are big
business in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">America</st1:place></st1:country-region>,
and many in my generation were raised to believe that milk is an “essential
food”; you can not live properly without it.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>Nothing could be further from the truth!<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-indent: .5in;"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-indent: .5in;">Many of us were
raised at a time when the American Dairy Association touted dairy as “one of
the 4 food groups”.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Even today, dairy
has it’s own section on the USDA Food Pyramid.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>In reality, we neither need dairy nor should we look at it as a separate
or essential food category in our diet.<span style="color: #040300; font-size: 12.5pt; line-height: 150%;"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-indent: .5in;"><span style="color: #040300; font-size: 12.5pt; line-height: 150%;"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-indent: .5in;"><span style="color: #040300;">Two</span><span style="color: black;">-</span><span style="color: #040300;">thirds of the world’s population cannot tolerate milk and
a rapidly growing number of Americans are allergic to cow's milk. In fact,
cow's milk allergy is one of the most common food allergies.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Many cultures never ingest milk products and
are healthier than Americans by far.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>These cultures get much of their protein from legume sources and their
calcium from legumes and vegetables.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-indent: .5in;"><span style="color: #040300;"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-indent: .5in;"><span style="color: #040300;">One of the biggest untruths the American Dairy
Association uses to promote cow’s milk as “essential” is that it is the only good
source of dietary calcium. It’s time to debunk that myth as well.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>There are many excellent sources of calcium
in other foods, such as dark green leafy vegetables, legumes, some fruits and
figs.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Many cultures that eat no dairy
have better health and stronger bones by getting their calcium from fish, green
vegetables, and legumes.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-indent: .5in;"><span style="color: #040300;"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-indent: .5in;"><span style="color: #040300;">As far as protein:<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>Yes, milk is high in protein, but at what cost?<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>If casein is one of the most allergic
proteins to humans, why ingest it at all?<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>Soy and other legumes are much better alternatives.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Even lean meats are.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>If you are not a vegan, sustainable fin fish
that is low in mercury, like salmon and tilapia, are a fantastic source of
calcium and protein.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-indent: .5in;"><span style="color: #040300;"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-indent: .5in;"><span style="color: #040300;">Concerning soy products: Much misinformation was
circulated in the recent past attempting to tarnish soy’s clean image.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Don’t believe it!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Cultures that have eaten soy and vegetable
based diets are the healthiest on earth.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>Their people have greater longevity, lower cancer rates and lower rates
of chronic illness.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>We, the great “milk”
drinkers have lower levels of energy, greater obesity, and shorter life spans.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-indent: .5in;"><span style="color: #040300;"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-indent: .5in;"><span style="color: #040300;">My suggestion to everyone is this: Eliminate dairy as
much as possible.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Eat more vegetables,
fruits and whole foods.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Eat more fiber

Instead, it’s a kind of physical therapy to reduce spinal nerve stress and promote health throughout the body.</p><p class="Body" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 25px; margin-top: 25px;">More than <a class="content-link css-5r4717" href="http://www.chiropractic.org/faq-chiro" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border-color: currentcolor; box-sizing: inherit; color: #01adb9; cursor: pointer; text-decoration-line: none;" target="_blank">1 million chiropractic adjustments</a> are given every day, all over the world. Some of these will have an impact on your posture and comfort. As your baby becomes heavier, your center of gravity shifts, and your posture adjusts accordingly.</p><p class="Body" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 25px; margin-top: 25px;">These physical changes during your pregnancy can lead to a misaligned spine or joints.</p><p class="Body" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 25px; margin-top: 25px;">Other uncomfortable changes during pregnancy might include:</p><ul style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; list-style-image: url("data:image/svg+xml,%3Csvg width='10' height='10' xmlns='http://www.w3.org/2000/svg'%3E%3Ccircle cx='5' cy='5' r='2.5' fill='%23EC1C82'/%3E%3C/svg%3E");"><li style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 8px;">a protruding abdomen resulting in an increased curve of your back</li><li style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 8px;">changes to your pelvis as your body begins to prepare for labor</li><li style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 8px;">adaptations to your posture</li></ul><p class="Body" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 25px; margin-top: 25px;">Regular visits to a chiropractor during your pregnancy can address these issues. One collaborative chiropractic and medical study revealed that 75 percent of pregnant chiropractic care patients reported pain relief. Plus, adjustments designed to re-establish balance and alignment to your pelvis and spine will do more than just make you feel better. Chiropractic care can be beneficial for your baby, too.</p><h2 style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; clear: both; font-size: 38px; line-height: 42px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-top: 45px; position: relative;"><div style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit;"><a class="chartbeat-section" name="Is-chiropractic-care-beneficial-for-your-baby-to-be?-" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; outline-width: 0px;">Is chiropractic care beneficial for your baby-to-be?</a></div></h2><p class="Body" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 25px; margin-top: 25px;">A pelvis that’s out of alignment can restrict the amount of space available to your developing baby. When an external force obstructs your growing baby’s normal movements, it’s known as intrauterine constraint. This can lead to birth defects.</p><p class="Body" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 25px; margin-top: 25px;">Another complication that a misaligned pelvis may pose relates to delivery. When the pelvis is out of alignment, it can make it hard for your baby to move into the best position to be born, which is rear-facing, head down.</p><p class="Body" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 25px; margin-top: 25px;">In some cases, this could affect a woman’s ability to have a natural and noninvasive birth. A balanced pelvis also means your baby has a lower chance of moving into a breech or posterior position. When your baby is in a nonoptimal birthing position, it can lead to a longer, more complicated delivery.</p><p class="Body" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 25px; margin-top: 25px;">Other evidence points to improved outcomes in labor and delivery for women who’ve received chiropractic care during their pregnancy. In fact, it may help reduce the length of time you’re in labor.</p><p class="Body" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 25px; margin-top: 25px;">In addition, regular chiropractic care while you’re pregnant can offer the following benefits:</p><ul style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; list-style-image: url("data:image/svg+xml,%3Csvg width='10' height='10' xmlns='http://www.w3.org/2000/svg'%3E%3Ccircle cx='5' cy='5' r='2.5' fill='%23EC1C82'/%3E%3C/svg%3E");"><li style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 8px;">help you maintain a healthier, more comfortable pregnancy</li><li style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 8px;">relieving pain in the back, neck, hips, and joints</li><li style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 8px;">help to control symptoms of nausea</li></ul></div>HealthAngelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00531965744139396139noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9007009942765224998.post-53795848818641413782020-09-29T04:42:00.002-07:002020-09-30T09:08:09.602-07:00Chiropratic Care & MS: Perfect Together!<p> </p><p class="p1" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #353735; font-family: "Gotham Book", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-stretch: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; line-height: 24px; margin: 0px 0px 30px;"><span class="s1" style="box-sizing: border-box;"><br style="box-sizing: border-box;" /><a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/forsycja/17033347771/" style="background-color: transparent; box-sizing: border-box; color: #00b3be; text-decoration-line: none;" target="_blank"></a>Multiple sclerosis, also known as MS, is an autoimmune disease where the immune system begins to destroy the outer layer of tissue that surrounds and protects the nerves, also known as myelin, in the brain and spinal cord. The deterioration of the myelin obstructs any communication between the nerves and brain. When the myelin is attacked, not only is the brain/body connection completely disrupted, but the nerves are eventually destroyed, resulting in debilitating complications.</span></p><p class="p1" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #353735; font-family: "Gotham Book", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-stretch: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; line-height: 24px; margin: 0px 0px 30px;"><span class="s1" style="box-sizing: border-box;">Some of these symptoms include muscle spasms, stiffness, paralysis, problems with the reproductive organs concerning bathroom and sexual behavior, changes in brain function, including memory loss, erratic emotions, depression and even epilepsy. What is most unsettling about the disease is that it has the ability to affect virtually anyone at any age.</span></p><p class="p1" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #353735; font-family: "Gotham Book", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-stretch: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; line-height: 24px; margin: 0px 0px 30px;"><span class="s1" style="box-sizing: border-box;">However, although it is unknown why multiple sclerosis affects certain people over others, there are certain trends that the disease seems to follow concerning infection. Caucasian women between the ages of 15 and 60 seem to be affected more than anyone else. There are is also evidence that suggests that if your parent or sibling has had the disease, then you have a greater chance of also coming down with it. The disease has also been found to occur more in southern Canada, northern United States, New Zealand, southeastern Australia and Europe. There has also been a link between multiple sclerosis and thyroid disease, type 1 diabetes and inflammatory bowel disease. </span></p><p class="p1" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #353735; font-family: "Gotham Book", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-stretch: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; line-height: 24px; margin: 0px 0px 30px;"><span class="s1" style="box-sizing: border-box;">Living with multiple sclerosis is often described as debilitating due to its crippling symptoms. Many people suffering from MS become interested in alternative care in order to find some relief from the daily pain they experience. Although there is little scientific evidence as of right now, there have been many people living with MS that report getting alleviation from their incapacitating symptoms through chiropractic treatment. Patients claim to have higher energy, better muscular control and the ability to be more active in their daily life. Being able to diminish the pain plays a huge part in building confidence in patients with multiple sclerosis, which then aids in better management of the disease, according to doctor Nesanet Mitiku, MD, PhD. Mitiku encourages chiropractic care for patients who are interested in trying treatments, since it gives them a better outlook on living with the illness.</span></p><p class="p1" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #353735; font-family: "Gotham Book", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-stretch: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; line-height: 24px; margin: 0px 0px 30px;"><span class="s1" style="box-sizing: border-box;">Although chiropractic doesn’t have the ability to treat the mental aspect of the disease, it may be able to help with the physical side of MS. The nerve damage that occurs during the progression of multiple sclerosis can cause the spine and pelvis to become misaligned. Chiropractic manipulations may be able to realign both these skeletal areas, allowing the muscles to work more efficiently. </span></p>HealthAngelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00531965744139396139noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9007009942765224998.post-72273484398597599422020-08-14T13:58:00.001-07:002020-08-14T13:58:38.246-07:00Eating Raw Organic Produce Can Give Your Gut a Healthy Boost<p> <span style="background-color: white; color: #262626; font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 17px;">When choosing organic or conventional produce, there's no simple comparison, even if it's apples to apples.</span></p><p style="background-color: white; color: #262626; font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 17px;">However, in <a href="https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fmicb.2019.01629/full" style="color: #529546; text-decoration-color: rgb(82, 149, 70);" target="_blank">a new study published</a> in the journal Frontiers in Microbiology, researchers found that when comparing conventionally grown apples to their organic counterparts, organic apples harbored a significantly more diverse bacteria population.</p><p style="background-color: white; color: #262626; font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 17px;">Conventional apples and organic apples both contained about the same amount of total bacteria, about 100 million per apple. Raw fruits and vegetables are an important source of gut bacteria — cooking tends to kill off all the bacteria.</p><p>In the comparison of organic and conventional apples, not only was bacteria more diverse in organic production, but it was also associated with the presence of so-called "good" bacteria <em>Lactobacillus</em>, a common probiotic.</p><p>Conversely, conventional apples were more likely to have potentially pathogenic bacteria like <em>Escherichia</em> and <em>Shigella</em>, which are known to cause food poisoning symptoms like diarrhea and cramps.</p><p>"The highly diverse microbiome of organically managed apples might limit or hamper the abundance of human pathogens, simply by outcompeting them," said Wassermann. "Probably, the microbial pool organic apple trees are exposed to is more diverse and more balanced and potentially supports the plant also in resistance during pathogen attack."</p><p>When it comes to gut health, however, Wassermann explained that it's not as simple as choosing organic over conventional apples.</p><p>Such a simple inference can't be drawn from her work alone. Instead, she emphasizes that diverse populations of bacteria — whether found in nature, apples, or the human gut — tend to be more beneficial no matter the environment where they are found.</p><p>And for most people, simply eating more fresh fruits and vegetables is a more important first step than discriminating between apples.</p><p>"Organic or conventional? Pretty irrelevant. The main thing is that people eat more fresh produce in general," said Wassermann.</p><p>With a focus on bacteria and by extension, gut health, the research adds yet another lens through which to view the ongoing debate for consumers on how they choose to buy produce.</p><p>And the organic versus conventional debate is far from settled.</p><p>But as questions about the benefits of either method have become more nuanced — it's not as simple as saying one is "better" than the other — consumers now have more awareness about what they want out of their produce.</p><p>The debate over organic and conventional fruits and vegetables has primarily focused on four aspects: nutrition, environmental impact, cost to consumers, and pesticides.</p><p>Depending on how important these factors are to you should inform your purchasing choice rather than strictly choosing one over the other.</p><h3 data-role="headline">What Do ‘Organic’ and ‘Conventional’ Even Mean?</h3><p><a href="https://www.usda.gov/media/blog/2012/03/22/organic-101-what-usda-organic-label-means" style="color: #529546; <a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Natural News</a>) Tea is a widely popular aromatic beverage that is consumed around the world. In fact, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">United Nations </em>(UN) claims that tea is the <a href="http://www.fao.org/in-action/smallholder-tea-producers-benefit-from-harmonize-safety-standards/en/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">most widely consumed beverage</a> worldwide, second only to water. </div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
But this beverage is more than just a drink to warm you up during cold weather. Tea is also highly appreciated for the plethora of health benefits it provides. For example, research has found that drinking a cuppa every day can <a href="https://www.heart.org/en/news/2018/07/12/regular-tea-drinking-might-help-your-heart-as-you-age-study-suggests" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">bring with it some heart benefits.</a></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Previous studies have established tea’s ability to reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke by <a href="https://www.healthline.com/health/high-cholesterol/herbal-tea#tea-and-cholesterol" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">decreasing blood levels of low-density lipoprotein</a> or LDL – the so-called “bad” cholesterol that builds up in arteries. However, these studies have not answered how drinking tea affects “good” cholesterol, also known as high-density lipoprotein (HDL), which helps carry LDL away from the arteries.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
But a recent study published in the <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Journal of the American Heart Association </em>revealed that a daily cup of tea <a href="https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/full/10.1161/jaha.118.008814" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">can slow down the natural decrease</a> in HDL that is associated with aging.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<h2 style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
The connection between drinking tea and maintaining healthy cholesterol levels</h2>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
For this study, researchers from <em style="box-sizing: border-box;"><a href="https://www.psu.edu/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Pennsylvania State University</a> </em>(PSU) analyzed the relationship between tea consumption and blood HDL levels. They observed more than 80,000 people from the Kaliuan community in Tangshan, China over a six-year period. The researchers found that those who drank tea exhibited significantly slower age-related decreases in HDL levels. They associated this with an eight percent decrease in cardiovascular disease risk.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
The researchers also discovered that <a href="https://naturalpedia.com/green-tea-sources-health-benefits-nutrients-uses-and-constituents-at-naturalpedia-com.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">green tea</a> had a significantly stronger effect on heart health than black tea. This was despite both types of tea containing large amounts of polyphenols and <a href="https://naturalpedia.com/catechin-sources-health-benefits-and-uses.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">catechins</a>, compounds that are known for their anti-inflammatory properties. (Related: <a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/2019-02-26-a-cup-of-tea-or-a-handful-of-berries-a-day-can-prevent-heart-disease.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">A cup of tea or a handful of berries a day can help prevent heart disease</a>.)</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
The link between increased tea consumption and the slower decline in HDL levels was observed in all participants, though it was more prominent in men and in those aged 60 and above who smoked, were obese or lived a sedentary lifestyle.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
“We still observed a significant association in these people, which suggests that the observed association cannot be totally interpreted by someone’s overall healthy lifestyle,” said senior author Xiang Gao, who is also the director of the Nutritional Epidemiology Lab at PSU.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
But the study had several limitations. The researchers’ findings were mostly based on self-reported information about general tea consumption (either monthly or weekly). The study also did not include dietary information like the consumption of meat, whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Furthermore, the study exclusively analyzed people from a particular Chinese community who don’t necessarily represent the nation’s entire population.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
According to Judith Wylie-Rosett, a professor at New York’s <em style="box-sizing: border-box;"><a href="http://www.einstein.yu.edu/about/contact-us.asp" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Albert Einstein College of Medicine</a></em>, the study took “a cautious approach to endorsing the benefits” of drinking tea while analyzing its impact on HDL levels.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
“We don’t tend to talk much about the decline in HDL <a href="https://naturalpedia.com/cholesterol-sources-health-benefits-and-uses.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">cholesterol</a> with age, and our main lifestyle strategies for trying to increase it are vigorous physical activity and losing weight,” she added. It’s nice to know that other lifestyle choices can help support these efforts.</div>

(<a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Natural News</a>) Diabetes, particularly Type 2 diabetes, is now considered a global pandemic. According to the <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">World Health Organization</em>, the <a href="https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/diabetes" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">global prevalence of diabetes among adults</a> has risen from five percent to nearly nine percent in 2014. Diabetes is a chronic condition that can cause blindness, heart attacks, kidney failure, stroke and even death. Statistics show that in 2016, diabetes directly caused the death of about 1.6 million people worldwide.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
In recent years, studies involving plants with anti-diabetic properties have yielded significant results. One such study, which appeared in the journal <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Nutrition Research</em>, focused on the health benefits of olive leaves, especially for prediabetics. <a href="https://naturalpedia.com/olives-sources-health-benefits-nutrients-uses-and-constituents-at-naturalpedia-com.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Olives</a> (<em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Olea europaea</em>) are widely known for their antioxidant, anti-cancer and cardioprotective properties, but researchers from the <a href="https://www.tsukuba.ac.jp/en/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;"><em style="box-sizing: border-box;">University of Tsukuba</em></a> in Japan found that their leaves can also help with lipid metabolism.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Oleuropein, a phytonutrient that can lower blood lipid levels, is the <a href="https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/foods/olives#plant-compounds" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">most abundant antioxidant</a> found in fresh, unripe olives. The study revealed that oleuropein is also present in olive leaves and has beneficial effects against dyslipidemia, Type 2 diabetes and obesity.</div>
<h2 style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">The link between obesity, diabetes and blood cholesterol</strong></h2>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Being <a href="https://naturalpedia.com/overweight-causes-side-effects-and-treatments-at-naturalpedia-com.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">overweight</a> or obese is a risk factor for Type 2 diabetes. Research suggests that <a href="https://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=39840" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">being overweight stresses the endoplasmic reticulum</a> (ER), a cell organelle responsible for processing proteins. When the ER is overwhelmed by the influx of nutrients caused by overeating, it signals the cell to dampen down its insulin receptors. This causes the cell to become less responsive to insulin, eventually resulting in insulin resistance and high blood sugar levels. Insulin resistance is a precursor to <a href="https://naturalpedia.com/type-2-diabetes-causes-side-effects-and-treatments-at-naturalpedia-com.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Type 2 diabetes</a>.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Besides blood sugar, diabetes is also known to affect blood lipid levels. People with diabetes tend to have lower levels of good <a href="https://naturalpedia.com/cholesterol-sources-health-benefits-and-uses.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">cholesterol</a> (HDL) and high levels of triglycerides and bad cholesterol (LDL). This condition, known as diabetic dyslipidemia, <a href="https://www.heart.org/en/health-topics/diabetes/why-diabetes-matters/cholesterol-abnormalities--diabetes" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">increases the risk of heart disease and stroke</a>. Diabetic dyslipidemia is a <a href="https://academic.oup.com/jcem/article/86/3/965/2847382" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">treatable risk factor for cardiovascular disease</a>; however, people can develop atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease before they are diagnosed with diabetes.</div>
<h2 style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">Drinking olive leaf tea lowers blood lipid levels in prediabetics</strong></h2>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
In their previous study, the researchers reported that <a href="https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0271531718314398?via%3Dihub#!" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">olive leaf tea (OLT) benefits obese and diabetic individuals</a> but not healthy ones. They thus hypothesized that OLT may have a more pronounced effect on abdominal obesity, as well as glucose and lipid metabolism, in prediabetics.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
To test this hypothesis, the researchers recruited individuals 40 to 70 years old with a body mass index of 23 – 29.9 kilograms (kg)/square meters (m2). They randomly assigned the participants to either the OLT group or the low-concentration OLT (LOLT) group. The intervention, which involved consumption of 330 milliliters (mL) of OLT or LOLT thrice daily during mealtime, lasted for 12 weeks.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
The researchers found that after the intervention, serum levels of triglycerides and LDL significantly decreased in the OLT group. These reductions were higher than those found in the LOLT group. Although body weight, waist circumference and insulin levels did not significantly change in both groups, the fasting blood sugar levels of the OLT group were more significantly reduced than those of the LOLT group. <div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Based on these results, the researchers concluded that <a href="http://foodcures.news/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">OLT can effectively lower the blood lipid levels</a> of prediabetics. Further studies, however, are needed to accurately determine the effect of olive leaves on abdominal obesity and <a href="https://naturalpedia.com/glucose-sources-health-benefits-and-uses.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">glucose</a> metabolism.</div>

(<a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Natural News</a>) Garlic is a popular spice known to have many health benefits. One of these benefits is the <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-6899021/Eating-raw-garlic-help-memory-sharp-old-age.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">ability to improve cognitive health among older people</a>. An animal study conducted by researchers from the <em style="box-sizing: border-box;"><a href="https://louisville.edu/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">University of Louisville</a> </em>found that a compound in garlic called allyl sulfide could help prevent age-related memory loss experienced by people with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. In particular, the compound helps counteract age-related changes in gut bacteria associated with memory problems.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
The gut contains trillions of microorganisms collectively called the gut microbiota. These microorganisms are known to play an important role in maintaining human health. However, there is not much known about the health effects associated with changes in gut microbiota that come with age. As a person gets older, the diversity of the gut microbiota declines.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
In the study, the researchers wanted to better <a href="https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/04/190408091259.htm" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">understand how gut microbiota changes influence age-related cognitive decline</a>. To do so, they fed 24-month old mice, which is equivalent to the age of people between 56 and 69 years, with allyl sulfide orally. Then, they compared these mice with four- and 24-month-old mice which did not receive the dietary allyl sulfide supplement.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
The researchers saw that the older mice that received the <a href="https://naturalpedia.com/garlic-sources-health-benefits-nutrients-uses-and-constituents-at-naturalpedia-com.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">garlic</a> compound exhibited better long- and short-term memory, as well as healthier gut bacteria, compared with the older mice that did not receive the treatment. The two-year-old mice that did not receive the garlic compound also had impaired spatial memory.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
In additional experiments, the researchers found that the reduced gene expression of neuronal-derived natriuretic factor (NDNF) in the brain was likely responsible for the cognitive decline. This gene, which was recently discovered by the researchers, is needed for long-term and short-term memory combination.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Moreover, the team found that mice that received allyl sulfide exhibited higher levels of NDNF gene expression. Recombinant-NDNF protein therapy in the brain also restored the cognitive function of the older mice that did not receive the garlic compound. Moreover, they found that the administration of allyl sulfide produced a hydrogen sulfide gas, which prevents inflammation in the intestines, in the gut lumen.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Taken together, the findings indicated that the intake of the garlic compound could enhance memory consolidation by restoring gut bacteria. The team continues to conduct experiments to better understand the relationship between the gut microbiota and cognitive decline. They also plan to look at whether garlic could be used as a treatment for age-related cognitive problems, such as <a href="https://naturalpedia.com/alzheimers-disease-causes-side-effects-and-treatments-at-naturalpedia-com.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Alzheimer’s disease</a> and <a href="https://naturalpedia.com/parkinsons-disease-causes-side-effects-and-treatments-at-naturalpedia-com.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Parkinson’s disease</a>. They presented the current study’s findings at the <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">American Physiological Society</em>‘s annual meeting held in Orlando, Florida.</div>

Other brain health benefits of garlic</h2>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
For thousands of years, garlic has been used <a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/Superfoods.news" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">both for culinary and medicinal purposes</a>. And over the years, scientists have uncovered and proven its health benefits, especially <a href="https://www.livestrong.com/article/248672-benefits-of-garlic-for-the-brain/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">its benefits for the brain</a>.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
For one, garlic may help prevent brain cancer. It contains another compound called dilly trisulfide (DATS), which plays a role in reducing tumor growth in individuals with glioblastoma, the deadliest form of brain tumor. In a study published in the <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Journal of Neuro-Oncology</em>, the compound effectively prevented tumor progression and induced apoptosis or cell death in active human glioblastoma, without harming the liver.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Garlic can also improve blood flow to the brain by preventing blood clot formation. Blood clots are masses that occur when liquid blood hardens. A blood clot can block an artery or vein in the heart, which may also affect the neck or brain and lead to stroke. Eating garlic can help because it is an effective blood thinner, which works like aspirin, and can help regulate blood circulation.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Aside from garlic, there are <a href="https://www.naturalnewsblogs.com/spices-herbs-boost-brain-power/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">many other spices that can boost brain function</a>. These include turmeric, oregano, thyme, rosemary, sage, black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and holy basil.</div>

(<a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Natural News</a>) Red yeast rice is a traditional Chinese food commonly used for lowering cholesterol. It is also believed to help prevent cardiovascular disease. A review published in the <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines</em>confirmed that red yeast rice and its products could be used as <a href="https://science.news/2019-06-10-red-yeast-rice-improves-endothelial-function-reducing-inflammation-alleviating-oxidative-stress.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">a healthy functional food</a> for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, such as atherosclerosis.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">

<a href="https://naturalpedia.com/atherosclerosis-causes-side-effects-and-treatments-at-naturalpedia-com.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Atherosclerosis</a> is a condition in which plaque or fatty deposits build up and clog the arteries, resulting in a thicker and narrower artery wall. Endothelial injury continues throughout the disease. Therefore, improving endothelial function is of essential in the prevention of the disease.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">

<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Based on the evidence they have gathered, red yeast rice and its products help in the treatment of <a href="https://naturalpedia.com/cardiovascular-disease-causes-side-effects-and-treatments-at-naturalpedia-com.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3399ff;">cardiovascular diseases</a> because of their effectiveness and safety in improving lipid levels. Red yeast rice also reduces oxidative stress and inflammation while increasing nitric oxide (NO), which maintains normal vasodilatory function and helps prevent platelet aggregation and adhesion. These beneficial effects may be attributed to its compounds: polyketides, monounsaturated fatty acids, phytosterols, <a href="https://naturalpedia.com/isoflavones-sources-health-benefits-and-uses.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">isoflavones</a>, condensed tannins, coenzyme Q10, microelements, and pigments, including ankaflavin, monascin, rubropunctatin, monascorubrin, rubropunctamine, and monascorubramine.</div>

Other health benefits of red yeast rice</h2>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
In addition to improving heart health, red yeast rice offers other health benefits. These include:</div>
<ul style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<li style="box-sizing: border-box;"><strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">Helping to treat metabolic syndrome: </strong>Red yeast rice consumption may help reduce several risk factors for metabolic syndrome, which is a cluster of conditions that increase the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. Human and animal studies have shown that supplementing with red yeast rice can help control levels of blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol, as well as prevent excessive weight gain.</li>
<li style="box-sizing: border-box;"><strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">Reducing inflammation: </strong>Although inflammation is a normal immune response that products the body against acute infection and foreign invaders, too much and prolonged inflammation can do more harm than good. Human and animal studies have shown that supplementing with red yeast rice may help reduce inflammation and fight oxidative stress in the body, promoting better health.</li>
<li style="box-sizing: border-box;"><strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">Warding off cancer: </strong>There is also some evidence on red yeast rice having anti-cancer properties. Animal and test-tube studies have reported that red yeast rice may help fight against cancer, particularly prostate cancer, by reducing tumor growth and the spread of <a href="https://naturalpedia.com/prostate-cancer-causes-side-effects-and-treatments-at-naturalpedia-com.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">prostate cancer</a> cells.</li>

They’re a comfort food for some and a guilty pleasure for others. But no matter how or why you choose to eat chocolates, you should know that they’re doing you more good than just making you feel happy or satisfying your cravings. According to a 2018 study published in </span><em style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition</em><span style="background-color: white; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">, </span><a href="https://academic.oup.com/ajcn/article/108/6/1229/5144478" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; text-decoration-line: none;">eating chocolates every day keeps your heart healthy</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><b>Chocolates are good for your arteries</b></span><br />
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
The study involved 45 male volunteers who were divided into three different groups. Each group was assigned a capsule to take with their breakfast every day for one month. Two of the three capsules contained different amounts of the two most studied compounds found in chocolate: (-)-<strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">epicatechin</strong> and <strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">procyanidins</strong>. Both compounds are flavonols or flavan-3-ols, a class of <a href="https://www.naturalpedia.com/flavonoids-sources-health-benefits-and-uses.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">flavonoids</a> found in many fruits and vegetables, including cocoa. (-)-Epicatechin and procyanidins are known antioxidants.</div>
<h3 style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">(-)-Epicatechin lowers blood pressure and reduces stiffness in arteries</strong></h3>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
When researchers from the <em style="box-sizing: border-box;"><a href="https://www.uni-duesseldorf.de/home/en/home.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">University of Dusseldorf</a> </em>in Germany examined the effects of the compounds, they found that (-)-<a href="https://www.naturalpedia.com/epicatechin-sources-health-benefits-and-uses.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">epicatechin</a> improved endothelial function in the volunteers. It also lowered their blood pressure and reduced arterial stiffness. These results aligned with those of previous studies, particularly one made in the Netherlands which reported that <a href="https://www.nutraingredients-usa.com/Article/2018/12/05/Mars-RCT-supports-epicatechin-for-vascular-benefits-of-cocoa-flavanols" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">men who consumed large amounts of (-)-epicatechin had a 38 percent lower risk</a> of dying from coronary heart disease than men who consumed less (-)-epicatechin.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
In contrast, the volunteers who took capsules with less (-)-epicatechin and more procyanidins did not receive the same benefits. “This demonstrates that the impact of CF (cocoa flavonols) on vascular health is linked to (?)-epicatechin and not to CF procyanidins,” wrote the researchers. (Related: <a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/028521_chocolate_blood_pressure.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Chocolate lowers blood pressure and slashes risk of heart disease</a>.)</div>
<h3 style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
Procyanidins lower blood cholesterol levels</h3>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Procyanidins are not without their health benefits. Although volunteers who took large amounts of procyanidins did not experience a decrease in blood pressure or arterial stiffness, they did enjoy a reduction in blood cholesterol levels. This demonstrated that procyanidins still support <a href="http://heart.news/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">heart health</a>, albeit in an indirect way. The impact of procyanidins may not be immediately felt, but it’s still massive in the long run.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
The researchers also explained that the role of procyanidins may have to do with the effect size of <a href="https://www.naturalpedia.com/flavonols-sources-health-benefits-and-uses.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">flavonols</a> – that is, they protect and preserve (-)-epicatechin and other flavonols from degradation during food processing and storage, and in the gastrointestinal tract during digestion. The researchers noted that this might explain the results of other studies, which used only pure (-)-epicatechin and reported no significant effects on cardiovascular function.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<h2 style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
Other reasons to eat chocolate</h2>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Research shows that (-)-epicatechin can also decrease blood glucose levels in diabetic patients. <a href="http://www.veterinaryworld.org/Vol.10/August-2017/6.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">(-)-Epicatechin increases insulin sensitivity and decreases insulin resistance</a>, suggesting that eating (-)-epicatechin-rich foods like chocolate can help prevent the onset of <a href="https://www.naturalpedia.com/type-2-diabetes-causes-side-effects-and-treatments-at-naturalpedia-com.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Type 2 diabetes</a>.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
(-)-Epicatechin also has anticancer effects. Several studies reported that it can stop angiogenesis or the formation of new blood vessels, which is one of the ways cancer cells grow and spread to other parts of the body. High concentrations of (-)-epicatechin also prevent cancer cell proliferation in vitro.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Procyanidins, together with (-)-epicatechin and other flavonols, may have anti-inflammatory properties. One study found that <a href="https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2213231715000968?via%3Dihub" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">these compounds can inhibit enzymes</a>involved in inflammation and the formation of tumors. <a href="https://www.uofmhealth.org/health-library/hn-2900003" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Procyanidins are also used in connection with health conditions</a> such as chronic venous insufficiency, capillary fragility, <a href="https://www.naturalpedia.com/diabetic-retinopathy-causes-side-effects-and-treatments-at-naturalpedia-com.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">diabetic retinopathy</a>, sunburn, pancreatic insufficiency, and varicose veins. In terms of anticancer activity, <a href="http://www.toxicolres.org/journal/view.html?doi=10.5487/TR.2017.33.4.273" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">procyanidins target components of intracellular signaling pathways</a>important for regulating cell survival and death and mediating metastasis.</div>

(<a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Natural News</a>) Nutritional therapies are simple low-cost methods of interrupting the transmission of various viral infections, as well as reducing one’s susceptibility to these diseases. Of particular note is the incredible healing power of vitamin C in reducing symptoms related to dengue fever, Zika virus, <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4335641/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">and similar infections</a>.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Dengue fever can be effectively reduced with vitamin C therapy. A case study by Thomas E. Levy, M.D. showed that 10 packets of liposome-encapsulated vitamin C (1,000 mg per packet) completely cured a 15-year-old Colombian girl suffering from hemorrhagic dengue fever. Levy <a href="https://www.naturalhealth365.com/ebola-zika-infections-1756.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">wrote of his experience on <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">NaturalHealth365</em></a> and said that his patient was well after only 48 hours.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Recent studies are proving the efficacy of intravenous vitamin C therapy in effectively resolving symptomatic and documented cases of Ebola virus infection in Sierra Leone as well. Case studies published in various medical journals documented the health and status of several Ebola patients in Central Africa. Across the board, a protocol of ozone, four to eight grams of vitamin C, and a supplement containing multiple antioxidants (such as <a href="https://naturalpedia.com/thiamine-sources-health-benefits-and-uses.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">thiamine</a>, riboflavin, selenium, N-acetyl cysteine, glutathione, and lipoic acid) dramatically reduced symptoms.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">

Similarly, vitamin C therapy appears to be effective in treating the Zika virus. <a href="https://www.isom.ca/wp-content/uploads/High-Dose-Intravenous-Vitamin-C-Treatment-for-Zika-Fever-31.1.pdf" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">A 2016 case report</a> written by researchers from the <em style="box-sizing: border-box;"><a href="http://www.upr.edu/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">University of Puerto Rico</a></em>, Berdiel Clinic, and the <em style="box-sizing: border-box;"><a href="https://www.psm.edu/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Ponce Health Sciences University</a></em> concluded that high doses of intravenous vitamin C therapy administered over three days significantly improved the condition of a patient. Symptoms associated with Zika were completely resolved without any side effects after the fourth day.</div>

<strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">A natural antioxidant that cures and prevents</strong></h2>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that protects the body from free radical damage. While it can be used quite effectively as a therapeutic agent in many diseases and disorders, its power remains in its ability to <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3783921/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">protect the immune system by fighting off infections</a>. Indeed, vitamin C is a clear example of “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<a href="https://naturalpedia.com/ascorbic-acid-sources-health-benefits-and-uses.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Vitamin C</a> is found in citrus fruits, tomatoes, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, turnips, green peppers, red peppers, and green, leafy vegetables. In a 2013 study titled “Vitamin C in Disease Prevention and Cure: An Overview,” researchers concluded that the antioxidant had profound effects on how the body responds to infections. Supplementing with vitamin C leads to a significantly reduced risk of becoming ill from various diseases and infections. Vitamin C is especially recommended for <a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/2019-01-16-vitamin-c-and-quercetin-for-inflammation-cellular-damage.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">treating various inflammatory conditions</a>.</div>
<h2 style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">Other documented uses for vitamin C</strong></h2>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
A number of experimental studies have observed that vitamin C therapy can be beneficial for the following conditions:</div>
<ul style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<li style="box-sizing: border-box;"><strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">Heavy metal toxicity</strong> — Vitamin C therapy may help remove heavy metals from the body. Recent clinical trials based on histopathological examinations of animal models concluded that the antioxidant lessened the severity of effects of chronic <a href="http://heavymetals.news/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">lead exposure</a> in the liver, kidneys, brain, and testes.</li>
<li style="box-sizing: border-box;"><strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">Diabetes</strong> — There is convincing clinical evidence that vitamin C can prevent the onset of <a href="https://naturalpedia.com/type-2-diabetes-causes-side-effects-and-treatments-at-naturalpedia-com.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Type 2 diabetes</a>. The metabolic disorder is associated with intense oxidative stress — a condition that can be treated with vitamin C.</li>
<li style="box-sizing: border-box;"><strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">Neurodegenerative disorders</strong> — A study conducted on 12 schizophrenics found that large doses of vitamin C improved the mental condition in 75 percent of the patients.</li>
<li style="box-sizing: border-box;"><strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">Cancer</strong> — High doses of vitamin C can improve the survival of patients diagnosed with <a href="http://cancer.news/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">terminal cancer</a>. Studies suggest cancer patients to take around 10 g of vitamin C to reap its full benefits.</li>

<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
(<a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Natural News</a>) If you’re depressed, you might be wary of taking antidepressants. Antidepressant use is incredibly common, with roughly one out of every 10 adults taking these drugs, but apprehension is certainly understandable given the dangerous side effects that are associated with these meds. However, that doesn’t mean that you have to suffer. Thankfully, there are several <a href="https://bebrainfit.com/natural-antidepressants/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">natural antidepressants</a> and activities that you can try to help alleviate depression.</div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
<strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">EGCG (Green tea)</strong></div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
You might be surprised to find that you may already have a very effective natural antidepressant in your pantry. The main active component of green tea, EGCG, boosts your resilience to stress and has been found to be just as effective as anti-anxiety drugs in combating anxiety. Studies have shown that drinking green tea every day can reduce your risk of depression by an impressive 44 percent.</div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
Avoid taking the shortcut with supplements as these are not usually well absorbed by the body. Moreover, when you drink green tea, you’ll benefit from the synergy between the EGCG, l-theanine, and caffeine, which work together to boost attention, learning and memory. If you’re dealing with depression as well as anxiety, this is a great starting point.</div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
<strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">Fish oil</strong></div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
Research has linked depression to low levels of omega-3 fatty acids, and deficiencies of one particular omega-3, DHA, have been linked to depression as well as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Another type of omega-3, EPA, can also reduce depression.</div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
Fish oil is an excellent source of omega-3s if you don’t tend to eat a lot of oily fish, but be sure you look out for options that contain EPA as well as DHA for the maximum benefits.</div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
<strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">Saffron</strong></div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
This beautiful yellow spice works just as well as Prozac does on depression by acting on serotonin metabolism, according to studies. It can also help decrease appetite. It’s not surprising, then, that saffron is one of the more common fraudulent foods given its utility in losing weight and fighting depression. Look for a standardized extract of the Crocus sativus plant from reputable sources to be sure you’re getting something effective.</div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
<strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">Rhodiola (Arctic Root)</strong></div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
If you need quick depression relief, arctic root – <a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/030784_Rhodiola_Rosea_fatigue.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">also known as rhodiola</a> – is a good bet. Found mostly in the colder areas of the world at higher altitudes, it is a mainstay in Chinese traditional medicine for reducing stress-induced fatigue and boosting physical stamina. It raises the activity of brain chemicals that improve mood, such as dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin. When you have depression alongside fatigue or anxiety or it’s caused by seasonal affective disorder (SAD), you could find relief from arctic root.</div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
<strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">Dietary changes</strong></div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
In many cases, the food you eat could cause or contribute to your depression. The trans fats found in fried and processed foods are particularly dangerous in this regard as researchers have found a direct correlation between the amount of trans fats consumed and depression risk. Replacing them with extra virgin oil can reduce your depression risk by as much as half.</div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
You might also consider adding coconut oil to your diet. Its composition of medium-chain fatty acids and antioxidants has also been shown to be as effective as antidepressants at fighting depression.</div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
<strong style="box-sizing: border-box;"><br /></strong></div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
<strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">Get moving</strong></div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
When <a href="http://science.naturalnews.com/depression.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">you are depressed</a>, it’s hard to find the motivation to do much of anything, but knowing that physical exercise is one of the best ways to improve your mental health may just be enough to get you up on your feet. Because exercise regulates the neurotransmitters that are targeted by prescription antidepressants, it can relieve depression just as well as these drugs can – and in some cases, even better! Exercise boosts the flow of blood to your brain while delivering more nutrients and oxygen.</div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
Not only can it stimulate the formation of new brain cells and increase the connectivity between different areas of your brain, but it can even change genetic expression. Try to get your exercise outdoors so you can also benefit from the depression-alleviating effects of being with nature.</div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: normal;">
These are just a few of the ways that you can <a href="http://www.psychiatry.news/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">address your depression</a> without having to put your life at risk by taking pharmaceuticals. Why not experiment with these alternatives and see what works for you?</div>

A specific strain of this species, which was identified and isolated from papayas in Thailand, was shown to produce antimicrobial compounds. For this study, which was published in </span><em style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">CyTA – Journal of Food</em><span style="background-color: white; color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">, the </span><a href="https://science.news/2018-10-03-bacillus-licheniformis-found-to-carry-potent-antimicrobial-compounds.html" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; text-decoration-line: none;">antimicrobial compounds produced by the BFP011 strain of <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">B. licheniformis</em></a><span style="background-color: white; color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"> were further characterized and evaluated for antimicrobial activity.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Bacillus sp. serve as sources for naturally-derived antimicrobial compounds, which can come in the form of either peptides or polyketides. Between these two, peptides, such as surfactins and fengycins, are more abundant than polyketides. These antimicrobial compounds are important for their role in the treatment of infections, as well as in food preservation.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
In this study, crude extracts were acquired from BFP011 and subjected to further purification to determine the individual compounds present. This was done using thin-layer chromatography (TLC) and reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). The purified fractions revealed the presence of macrolactins and amicoumacins, which are both non-peptides.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<a href="https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/19476337.2017.1337047" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Antimicrobial activity of the crude extracts and the purified fractions</a> were determined against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria that are involved in human pathogenesis or food spoilage. Results showed that the compounds were effective against a variety of bacterial species. However, Gram-negative bacteria were observed to be less susceptible to the extracts than Gram-positive bacteria. This difference in sensitivity can be attributed to lower peptidoglycan content in Gram-negative bacteria, since most antimicrobial compounds work by inhibiting peptidoglycan synthesi.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
The mechanisms of action of the purified fractions against <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Salmonella typhi</em> ATCC 5784 were also determined based on changes in bacterial morphology when viewed under a scanning electron microscope. <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">S. typhi</em> was selected for this part of the study because of its ability to cause human disease and survive in low temperature, which could lead to food contamination. Exposure of <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">S. typhi</em> to the purified fractions led to an inhibition of its growth, showing that macrolactins and amicoumacins are sufficient for antimicrobial activity against <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">S. typhi</em>. It was also observed that cells treated with the purified fractions caused deformation of the cell membrane or formation of protrusions on the surface.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Based on these results, the researchers were able to determine that <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">B. licheniformis</em>BFP011 produces non-peptidic antimicrobial compounds, namely macrolactins and amicoumacins. They were also able to observe that these compounds work against various bacterial species and that their mechanism of action involves the destruction of the cell membrane in a time-dependent manner.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
“Notably, the scope of potential applications would not be limited to suppressing the bacterial growth in food products, but also include novel antimicrobial therapeutics, which could help to promote human health by lowering the risks associated to infection with multiresistant bacteria,” the researchers concluded.</div>

(<a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Natural News</a>) Back-to-school season is here. Alongside sales, shopping and students, you may have noticed that something else is back: The flu shot. The push to get vaccinated is in full swing, whether you’re at the grocery store or simply watching the evening news. “It’s never too early to get the flu shot,” vaccine pushers are saying. And after the massive failure of the 2017 flu shot, it’s no surprise that pro-vaccine propaganda is already everywhere.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
As the masses become more aware of the fraud behind the flu vaccine, Big Pharma and their puppets are going to be working overtime to sell their disinformation. In 2017, the flu vaccine was so ineffective that experts warned there would be a “Flu-pocalypse.” As <a href="https://www.real.video/5827415935001" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">a news video</a> by <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">The Highwire with Del Bigtree</em> shows, media pundits around the world declared that the 2017 flu shot was only about 10 percent “effective,” yet companies and hospitals around the U.S. are forcing employees to get vaccinated.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
“It’s a terrible vaccine,” Bigtree states. “But what’s outrageous is how much fear they’re creating around the idea that they may not have a vaccine,” he contends. Indeed, the fear here is actually being used to serve the vaccine industry. It’s as if these people believe the human immune system simply can’t function without a shot.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
After years of toxic inoculations, that may not be so far-fetched (unfortunately).</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
As Bigtree contends, the media seems to use fear-mongering to push people towards vaccination, even when the vaccine clearly doesn’t work. Last year’s vaccine was a total sham — and this year’s inoculation will be no different. But everywhere you look, there’s an advertisement for the shot. Some places are even doling out flu shots for free, but it seems Big Pharma can’t even give these things away anymore.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">

The flu shot charade</h2>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
While the mainstream media likes to claim that any increase in the case of flu is a result of people not getting vaccinated, <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/flu/fluvaxview/nifs-estimates-nov2017.htm" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">data from the CDC</a> shows that by the end of the flu season, approximately the same number of people were vaccinated in 2017 as years past. While the CDC <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">writes</em> that early season vaccination was lower, the data presented in their charts clearly shows that by the <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">end</em> of flu season, the numbers of vaccinated people are consistently about the same every year:</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<img alt="" class="alignnone size-medium" data-pin-no-hover="true" src="https://www.cdc.gov/flu/images/fluvaxview/nov-2017/nifs-estimates-figure1.jpg" style="border: none; box-sizing: border-box; max-height: 100%; max-width: 100%;" title="" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Indeed, the failure of the flu vaccine is not due to a dramatic decrease in the number of people being vaccinated, though that is what the vaccine propagandists would like for you to believe. But as Mike Adams, founder of <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Natural News </em>and the pro-freedom video-sharing platform <a href="http://real.video/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">REAl.video</a>, reports, the real science on vaccines lies in stark opposition to the pro-vaccine narrative.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">

The Health Ranger writes:</div>
<blockquote style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<div style="box-sizing: border-box;">
<em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Now a new study conducted by the <a href="https://www.scripps.edu/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Scripps Research Institute</a> and published in the science journal PLoS blows the lid on exactly why flu shots are the greatest medical hoax in the history of science and medicine. Titled, “<a href="http://journals.plos.org/plospathogens/article?id=10.1371/journal.ppat.1006682" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">A structural explanation for the low effectiveness of the seasonal influenza H3N2 vaccine</a>,” the research paper concludes that the very method of modern flu vaccine production <strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">causes viral strains to mutate to non-effective structures</strong> that do not confer the immunity being routinely claimed for flu vaccines</em>.</div>
</blockquote>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Essentially, the way flu shots are made renders the flu strains useless for promoting immunity — which is why so many people still get the flu, even after vaccination. This failure rate is then used as propaganda to promote more vaccination.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
But as Adams reported earlier this year, studies have now also shown that the flu vaccine doesn’t just fail — it can also <a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/2018-01-30-flu-vaccine-bombshell-630-more-aerosolized-flu-virus-particles-emitted-by-people-who-received-flu-shots-flu-vaccines-actually-spread-the-flu.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">cause disease to spread</a>. Once again, mainstream media and conventional medicine have dropped the ball.</div>

(<a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Natural News</a>) The Mediterranean diet is known to be among the healthiest of diets with a lower incidence of chronic disease and greater longevity. It is considered a “gold standard” in healthy eating.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Traditional Mediterranean diets (MedDiet) are associated with reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, a condition that overlaps with depression. The following study, which was published in the <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Journal of Nutrition & Intermediary Metabolism</em>, aimed to investigate the effects of the MedDiet on <a href="https://science.news/2018-04-05-effects-of-mediterranean-style-diet-on-depression-mental-health.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">mental health and quality of life in people with depression</a>.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
A total of 163 adults aged 18-65 with self-reported depression participated in a randomized controlled trial. The trial provided nutrition education and food hampers and cooking workshops every two weeks for three months, with six months follow-up.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
The control group attended social groups every two weeks. During this period, the participants completed mental health, quality of life and dietary questionnaires. Data were analyzed using linear mixed modeling and Pearson correlations.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
The treatment group was found to have a higher MedDiet score; consumed more vegetables, fruits, nuts, whole grains, and legumes; consumed a greater diversity of vegetables and fruit; and had less unhealthy snacks and red meat/chicken, in comparison to the control group at three months.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Moreover, the treatment group had reduced depression scores and higher mental health and quality of life scores.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
The findings indicated that reduced depression scores correlated with increased MedDiet, consumption of nuts, legumes, and a greater diversity of fruits and vegetables.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">

More on the Mediterranean Diet</h2>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<a href="https://mentalhealthfood.net/the-mediterranean-diet-why-its-important-for-mental-health/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">MedDiet is primarily plant-based</a>, with emphasis on fresh vegetables and fruits, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and legumes (beans and lentils). However, meat is not entirely taken out of the picture with this diet.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Fish and seafood are the primary sources of animal proteins and are recommended for consumption several times per week. Chicken is also included in this diet, eaten about once or twice per week, as well as eggs, eaten in moderate amounts (generally about seven eggs per week, including those used in baking). Meanwhile, red meat and sweet desserts are consumed in small amounts, only a few times per month. Desserts generally consist of fresh seasonal fruits.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Cheese and yogurt are great sources of probiotics and are eaten in small to moderate amounts anywhere from daily to weekly. Olive oil is the main source of fat and is used in cooking and on salads, while honey is the primary sweetener (but is used sparingly). Wine is consumed in moderation – one to two glasses per day for men and one glass for women – and usually with meals.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Among the many health benefits of MedDiet, it has also been shown to <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3848350/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">help decrease the risk of anxiety and depression</a>. This type of diet is rich in the nutrients that are critical for the regulation of mood by providing the necessary fiber and probiotics involved in proper digestion, which in turn help reduce stress and enhance mood.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Reap the benefits of MedDiet today by considering to grow your own food, or shopping at your local farmers market to ensure fresh produce. In addition, including more fish and seafood in your daily meals while avoiding processed food is a great first step towards <a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/026011_diet_mediterranean_Alzheimers.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">better mental health</a>.</div>

(<a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Natural News</a>) Apples once again show that they can keep the doctor away. A study has found that the flavonoid-rich fruit <a href="https://science.news/2018-03-24-habitual-physical-activity-found-to-increase-appetite-control-response.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">enhances cardiovascular health and reduces the risk of disease</a> by improving endothelial function. Just eat it with its skin for more benefits.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Past studies have shown that there is an <a href="https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2352385917300841" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">inverse association between apple consumption and cardiovascular mortality</a>. Endothelial dysfunction is an independent indicator of cardiovascular risk. Therefore, a team of researchers from Australia investigated whether four weeks of constantly consuming apples would enhance endothelial function and blood pressure in individuals with one or more risk factor for cardiovascular disease.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
In the randomized, controlled, cross-over trial, 30 individuals with at least one cardiovascular disease risk, such as increased blood pressure, increased blood sugar, increased total cholesterol levels, or central obesity, ate either apples with skin or apple flesh only as a control. </div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
The research team assessed acute and chronic changes in blood pressure, endothelial function, arterial stiffness, and levels of plasma flavonoid metabolites, cholesterol, glucose, nitrate, and nitrite. In addition, they looked at the changes between interventions by mixed models ANOVA with adjustments for baseline.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
The findings of the study revealed that endothelial function greatly improved two hours after acute consumption and after chronic consumption of <a href="https://naturalpedia.com/apple-sources-health-benefits-nutrients-uses-and-constituents-at-naturalpedia-com.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">apple</a> with skin in comparison to eating apple without the skin. Yet, there were no significant changes observed in other measurements.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
The researchers concluded that their study’s findings support the theory that flavonoid-rich foods prevent cardiovascular disease by enhancing endothelial function, both in the short-term and long-term consumption. (Related: <a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/034913_flavonoids_heart_disease_stroke_risk.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Dietary flavonoids lower heart disease and stroke risk by nearly twenty percent</a>.)</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
If you want to keep your heart healthy, eat more fruit. A study published in the <i style="box-sizing: border-box;">New England Journal of Medicine</i> found that <a href="https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/patients-families/health-matters/april-2016/could-an-apple-a-day-keep-heart-disease-away.aspx" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3399ff;">eating more fruit may lower your chance of developing major heart disease</a>. Fruit is believed to contain high sugar levels, which is why some people eat it sparingly. However, this study suggested that people should not worry about it.</div>
<div align="LEFT" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div align="LEFT" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
The study authors from China recruited 512,891 adults aged 30 to 79 years from 10 different localities in China. After a follow-up, 5,173 deaths from cardiovascular disease, 2,551 incident major coronary events, 14,579 ischemic strokes, and 3,523 intracerebral hemorrhages were recorded among the 451,665 participants who did not have a record of cardiovascular disease or antihypertensive treatments at baseline.</div>
<div align="LEFT" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div align="LEFT" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Results showed that 18 percent of the participants reported eating fresh fruit daily. Moreover, individuals who regularly ate fresh fruit had lower systolic blood pressure and blood sugar levels as well as a 40 percent lower risk of cardiovascular death in comparison to those who never or rarely at fresh fruit.</div>
<div align="LEFT" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div align="LEFT" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
The findings of the study are in line with several previous studies that show that increased fruit intake reduces the risk of chronic disease, such as cardiovascular disease, erectile dysfunction, some cancers, and gallbladder problems that require surgery.</div>
<div align="LEFT" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
“I recommend that people freely consume fresh, whole fruits as snacks—but not fruit juices, smoothies, or other fruit drinks,” said nutrition expert Dr. Thomas Campbell of the <a href="https://www.urmedicine.org/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;"><i style="box-sizing: border-box;">University of Rochester Medicine</i></a>, who was not part of the study.</div>

(<a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Natural News</a>) A study published in the journal <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Environmental Health Perspectives </em>has revealed that a mixture of endocrine disrupting chemicals found in various industrial and food sources may affect fetal development among pregnant women. The researchers screened for up to 27 chemicals — including seven drugs, 14 industrial chemicals, and six sociocultural chemicals like alcohol or caffeine — as part of the study. The experts identified 11 endocrine disrupting compounds following the screening process.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Four chemical mixtures were developed from the initial 11 chemicals. The resulting mixtures were also been tested on human fetal testes. The scientists observed that the mixtures inhibited testosterone production in human fetal testes. The research team also developed a mathematical equation that determined the potential side effects of a mixture of endocrine disruptors. According to the experts, the study serves as the pioneering research on how a mathematical equation can predict the onset of adverse medical conditions following chemical exposure.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
“There is a very precise critical window during the first trimester of fetal development during which simultaneous exposure to weak doses of multiple endocrine disruptors may represent a risk to the development of the child’s genitals and reproductive system. It is particularly concerning as the individual potency of these chemicals can be exacerbated by up to a factor of 1,000. All the experimental data from different models lead us toward the same conclusions. This experimental proof of concept study shows that intensifying research into identifying the real mixtures to which individuals are exposed, and testing the effects on appropriate models, is a necessity,” study leader Bernard Jégou states in a <a href="http://presse.inserm.fr/en/researchers-warn-about-mixtures-of-endocrine-disruptors-during-pregnancy/29138/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">press release</a>.</div>

Endocrine disruptors may impact brain health, study finds</h2>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Another study shows that prenatal exposure to endocrine disruptors not only affects reproductive health, but may also impact brain development. A team of scientists pooled data from the <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">EDEN Mother-Child Study Group</em> with a total cohort population of 529 young boys born between 2003 and 2006 and their mothers. According to the researchers, all of the mothers had been exposed to endocrine disruptors such as bisphenol A, triclosan and dibutyl phthalate (DBP). The findings showed that the chemicals induced <a href="http://mind.news/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">behavioral problems</a> in young boys.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
“Exposure to bisphenol A was associated with increased relationship problems at three years and hyperactivity problems at five years, thus confirming that the effects of bisphenol A on the behavior observed in laboratory animals also occur in humans at low levels of exposure,” <a href="http://presse.inserm.fr/en/prenatal-exposure-to-endocrine-disruptors-and-behavioral-problems-in-children/29573/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">the researchers explain</a>.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Likewise, the scientists observed that exposure to DBP is associated with increased emotional and relationship problems such as internalizing behavior at three years old. </div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Triclosan is also found to raise the odds of emotional problems at ages three and five. The research team adds that the chemical is shown to reduce in head circumference at birth.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
According to the experts, triclosan interacts with the thyroid axis, which plays a central role in fetal brain development. However, the findings did not show a direct correlation between endocrine disruptors and neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism spectrum disorder. (Related: <a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/052634_bisphenol_S_brain_development_plastics_chemicals.html" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Plastics chemicals BPA, BPS linked to altered brain development</a>.)</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
“The observed associations between BPA, MnBP, and behavior in boys are consistent with previous findings. Further health impact assessment studies based on dose–response functions corrected for exposure misclassification are required to quantify the public health burden possibly entailed by such associations,” the researchers report in the <a href="https://ehp.niehs.nih.gov/ehp1314/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;"><em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Environmental Health Perspectives</em> journal</a>.</div>

Our water at Suburban comes from Mountainwood Springs in NJ, an actual natural spring-not a manufactured one!</h2>
<br />
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
(<a href="https://www.naturalnews.com/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Natural News</a>) An <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/animated-map-bottled-water-springs-dasani-aquafina-2016-10" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">animated map generated by </a><em style="box-sizing: border-box;"><a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/animated-map-bottled-water-springs-dasani-aquafina-2016-10" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Business Insider</a> </em>has provided an overview on where the most popular bottled water brands actually came from.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
According to the map, Dasani Purified Water comes from a local water supply, while Nestlé’s Pure Life Purified Water takes its supply from a local well or municipal water source. Likewise, Aquafina’s Purified Water uses public water sources in all of its 40 bottling facilities across the U.S. In addition, Smartwater’s Purified Water comes from municipal water systems.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
On the other hand, Poland Spring’s Natural Spring Water uses eight various springs in Maine for its production. These springs include the Cold, Bradbury, Evergreen and White Cedar springs as well as the Spruce, Garden, Clear and Poland springs. Deer Park’s Natural Spring Water also takes its water supply from various springs across the country.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
In addition, Ozarka’s Natural Spring Water was found to use water from three various springs in Texas: Roher spring, Moffit spring, and Piney woods spring. As with other spring water products, Crystal Geyser’s Natural Spring Water makes use of springs spread across the country as their sources.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<h2 style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
Questionable water sources may imperil consumers</h2>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Just last year, a study carried out by researchers at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences revealed that public drinking water supplies across the U.S. have extensively high levels of industrial chemicals called <a href="http://toxins.news/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">polyfluoroalkyl and perfluoroalkyl substances</a>(PFASs).</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
The chemicals have been used over the past 60 years in various industrial and commercial products such as food wrappers, iron cast pots and pans, and clothing. PFAS have been previously linked to a host of adverse health conditions such as cancer, obesity, and high cholesterol.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
As part of the study, the research team pooled data from more than 36,000 water samples collected by the U.S. <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Environmental Protection Agency </em>(EPA) between 2013 and 2015. The research team found that the chemicals detected at the minimum reporting levels were seen in 194 out of 4,864 water supplies in 33 states across the U.S. The experts also noted that 75 percent of all the detected chemicals came from drinking water from 13 states, which include: California, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Alabama as well as Florida, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Other states included New York, Georgia, and Minnesota as well as Arizona, Massachusetts, and Illinois.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
In addition, the researchers found that 66 of the public water supplies evaluated had at least one water sample that measured at or above the safety limits set by the EPA. The highest levels of chemicals were observed in watersheds near industrial sites, military bases, and wastewater treatment plants. These water supplies cater to six million people, the experts said. <div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
“For many years, chemicals with unknown toxicities, such as PFASs, were allowed to be used and released to the environment, and we now have to face the severe consequences. In addition, the actual number of people exposed may be even higher than our study found, because government data for levels of these compounds in drinking water is lacking for almost a third of the U.S. population — about 100 million people,” <a href="http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2016/08/unsafe-levels-of-toxic-chemicals-found-in-drinking-water-of-33-states/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">said lead author Xindi Hu</a>.</div>

<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
“These compounds are potent immunotoxicants in children and recent work suggests drinking-water safety levels should be much lower than the provisional guidelines established by EPA,” senior author Elsie Sunderland added.</div>

(<a href="http://www.naturalnews.com/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">Natural News</a>) This may seem like a simple question for our long-time readers, but many new readers are asking, “How do I avoid GMOs?”</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
It’s not just the <a href="http://gmo.news/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">GMOs</a> themselves, of course, that people wish to avoid. It’s also the toxic, <a href="http://pesticides.news/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">cancer-causing herbicide</a> known as <a href="http://glyphosate.news/" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #3366cc; text-decoration-line: none;">glyphosate</a> that frequently saturates both genetically engineered crops and non-GMO crops alike. Glyphosate was recently added to California’s Prop 65 list of known cancer-causing chemicals.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
In this short video, I explain the simplest ways to avoid GMOs and glyphosate. They include:</div>
<ul style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #555555; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<li style="box-sizing: border-box;">Buying certified organic produce.</li>
<li style="box-sizing: border-box;">Looking for the “Non-GMO Project Verified” logo on grocery products.</li>
<li style="box-sizing: border-box;">Growing your own food.</li>

Though raw milk was once a wholesome, nutrient-rich drink, today’s <a href="http://www.naturalnews.com/036970_dairy_health_problems_alternatives.html">milk is pumped with hormones, sugar</a>, and other health damaging substances. The idea that we need to consume calcium-rich milk to sustain healthy bones is quickly fading. Therefore, the industry is coming up with other ways to make sure we drink some every day.<br />
According to new research, conducted by scientists at the National University of Singapore (NUS), people who drink at least eight ounces of milk every day have a 12 percent <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28318689">lower risk of type 2 diabetes</a> and a six percent <a href="http://jn.nutrition.org/content/147/2/235.abstract">lower risk of hypertension</a>.<br />
<br />
<br />
For both studies, the researchers analyzed data from the Singapore Chinese Health Study of 63,257 middle-aged and elderly Chinese, enrolled in the study between 1993 and 1998. All participants had no history of hypertension or cardiovascular diseases when they signed up.<br />
Additional information was collected during two follow-up interviews, conducted between 1999-2004 and 2006-2010. The study was a collaboration with the Singapore Ministry of Health, funded by grants from the U.S. National Institutes of Health.<br />
<br />
<br />
To standardize the study methodology, the researchers focused on only one racial group to rule out dietary differences that arise from cultural factors. However, Prof Koh Woon Puay, who led the research, noted that the health benefits of milk are applicable to all racial groups and ages. Dietary intake patterns were determined using a 165-question survey.<br />
<h2>
Ice cream to reduce the risk of diabetes and hypertension — Really?</h2>
These two NUS studies are the first-of-their-kind to show a positive effect of milk on high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes in an Asian population that traditionally has a low consumption of dairy products. Similar observations were made for the regular consumption of other dairy products such as yogurt, Milo, Yakult, Ovaltine, Horlicks, frozen yogurt, and ice cream, <a href="http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/health/a-glass-of-milk-a-day-can-reduce-risk-of-diabetes-and-hypertension-study">reported <em>Straits Times</em></a>.<br />
<br />
<br />
Yes, you read that right. If we believe these recent research papers, then ice cream, among other highly processed dairy products, will protect your body against hypertension and type 2 diabetes. This smells like dairy industry-funded research. Don’t you think?<br />
The researchers also considered the use of butter in bread and dairy products in cooking procedures of local dishes to get an accurate estimate of the total dairy intake among the Chinese population living in Singapore.<br />
<br />
<br />
“Our findings indicate that drinking a cup of milk daily may be beneficial for health; thus those who do not have a problem tolerating dairy products may enjoy it as a potential healthy choice,” <a href="https://www.duke-nus.edu.sg/microscope/content/milk-does-body-or-its-blood-pressure-good">said the study’s authors, Dr. Talaei and Prof Koh</a>.<br />
<br />
<br />
Today, the number of people with diabetes has skyrocketed in America, with some 30 million people living with the disease. This is more than three times the number recorded in the early 90s, <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/diabetes/data/statistics/2014statisticsreport.html">according to the 2014 National Diabetes Statistics Report</a>.<br />
<br />
<br />
Fortunately, there is an easy solution to the fast-growing problem. Not entirely surprising, the answer isn’t coming from the medical world since in more than <a href="http://www.who.int/bulletin/volumes/89/2/11-040211/en/">90 percent of all type 2 diabetes cases</a>, poor lifestyle choices are the primary culprit. In fact, the medical world isn’t interested in preventing, reversing, or curing diabetes, since managing diabetes is so incredibly profitable for the pharmaceutical industry.<br />
<em><br /></em><br />
<em>Natural News</em> just released a new book, “<a href="https://www.amazon.com/Reversing-Type-Diabetes-Evidence-based-strategies-ebook/dp/B07196JLCB/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1494262369&sr=8-1">Reversing Type 2 Diabetes: Evidence-based strategies for reversing type 2 diabetes that your doctor doesn’t know and drug companies hope you never find out</a>,” that shows how you can easily prevent, reverse, or cure the disease by eating healthy foods and engaging in daily exercise.<br />

Hooray!If you enjoy coffee and ice cream but loathe artificial colorings, it seems that you may be in for a treat sometime soon. Dunkin Brands Group Inc., which owns the popular Dunkin Donuts coffee chain and Baskin-Robbins ice cream chain, has announced that it plans on removing artificial colorants from the majority of its products by 2018.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.organicauthority.com/31-flavors-not-colors-baskin-robbins-and-dunkin-donuts-slash-artificial-coloring/"><em>Organic Authority</em> reports</a> that in a recent press release, Dunkin’ Brands Chairman and CEO Nigel Travis said, “This is a significant undertaking on the part of our product development teams and suppliers.”<br />
Travis went on to state, “However, we are committed to meet the evolving needs of our customers, including their preference for more nutritional transparency and simpler ingredients, while maintaining the great taste and the fun, vibrant colors expected from Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins products.”<br />
<br />
The research and development teams for Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins are currently re-working a host of products to meet this new goal. At Dunkin’ Donuts, donut icings, toppings, frozen beverages, baked goods, breakfast sandwiches and coffee flavorings are all being revamped to become free of artificial colorants. And at Baskin-Robbins, the plan is to remove <a href="http://www.toxins.news/">synthetic dyes</a> from ice creams, syrups, sauces, sprinkles and beverages.<br />
<br />
However, neither brand will be removing a selection of supplier-branded ingredients that are produced by other companies and used as ingredients in their foods, such as topping or mix-ins for ice creams. Baskin-Robbins has also noted it will take them longer to replace the artificial colorants used in the decorative elements of their famed ice cream cakes.<br />
<br />
A number of fast-food and chain restaurants have <a href="http://www.naturalnews.com/2016-09-26-popular-fast-food-restaurants-are-failing-to-carry-antibiotic-free-meat.html">launched initiatives to improve the quality of their ingredients</a> in the last few years. Subway, Panera, and Taco Bell have also announced their plans to remove artificial colorings from their products, along with other questionable ingredients.<br />
In 2015, General Mills announced it would be removing synthetic dyes and artificial flavors from its cereals. That same year, Kraft finally caved in and made a similar announcement, after refusing to remove artificial colors from its iconic macaroni and cheese product for 2 yers.<br />
<h2>
What’s the fuss about food dyes?</h2>
Artificial dyes have been controversial for many years. In Europe, many of these dyes were banned in 2008, after a study showed that they could cause behavioral problems in children. The U.S. FDA failed to administer a similar ban, even in the face of a massive petition from The Center For Science in the Public Interest (CSPI). CSPI also recently authored a report that outlined the adverse effects artificial food dyes can have on children’s health, as well as the lack of policy surrounding this issue and more, which you can view in full <a href="https://cspinet.org/resource/seeing-red-time-action-food-dyes">on their website</a>.<br />
<br />
The report indicates that eight separate analyses have demonstrated that removing food dyes from children’s diets can help correct behavioral issues. More concerning is the fact that many American children are consuming amounts of these dyes far higher amounts than what was used in these trials, which could indicate an even bigger problem. According to CSPI, many of these dyes “fail to meet the federal safety standard for color additives, which requires ‘convincing evidence that establishes with reasonable certainty that no harm will result from the intended use of the color additive.'” In 2008, the organization petitioned the FDA to ban Red 40, Yellow 5 and six other synthetic colors for this reason.<br />
<br />
Some food dyes are produced with coal tar or petroleum and <a href="http://www.naturalnews.com/055165_food_dyes_toxic_ingredients_cancer.html">are known to be carcinogenic</a>. As <em>Food Matters</em> explains, Yellow 6 has been linked to tumors of the kidneys and adrenal glands, while Green 3 is linked to bladder cancer, and Red 3 causes thyroid tumors in rats.<br />
Synthetic dyes are not as safe as they are purported to be — especially not in the amounts they are often consumed. CSPI President Michael F. Jacobson had said that major food companies “should be embarrassed” by <a href="http://www.naturalnews.com/045072_food_dyes_brand_name_foods_behavioral_problems.html">what they are selling to the American people</a>, especially while they are accommodating the EU and providing them with naturally-colored or dye-free versions of the same food.<br />
<br />
While it is great that consumer demand is finally working and driving these big corporations to find natural alternatives to synthetic compounds and ingredients, it has taken far too long.<br />

In fact, it seems as though the mainstream medical community is becoming even more demanding and aggressive about their vaccination agenda than ever before.<br /><br />Just this past September, the <a href="http://www.cdc.news/">CDC</a> updated their flu vaccination guidelines so they could encourage people with egg allergies to get the flu vaccine. As many people are aware, in the past having an egg allergy exempted you from having to get the vaccine because this particular shot contains traces of eggs. Seems perfectly reasonable and logical, doesn't it? Well, they're throwing logic out the window with their new suggestions.<br /><br />People with minor allergic reactions, like hives, are called upon to be vaccinated as usual, at any location of their choosing. For those with more severe reactions – like anaphylactic shock, which can kill you – it is suggested that they get vaccinated at their doctor's office, a hospital or other medical facility. That way, when the person's throat closes up, hopefully someone will be able to save their life. That seems perfectly reasonable to ask someone to do, don't you think?<span><br /><br />Apparently having a life-threatening food allergy is no longer enough to allow people to be remiss in their civic duty to be injected with <a href="http://www.toxins.news/">harmful substances</a>.<br /><br />To be perfectly honest, for the average non-allergic person, eggs in the flu vaccine are really the least worrisome ingredient. There are things in vaccines many times more toxic than egg whites could ever hope to be.<br /><br />Mercury, for example, is a toxic heavy metal. Despite industry claims that mercury is not used in <a href="http://www.naturalnews.com/vaccines.html">vaccines</a>, it still seems to have quite the presence. In 2014, Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, revealed that laboratory testing showed quite a different story about the mercury content in flu shots. Using ICP-MS technology, Adams found that Fluval – a common <a href="http://www.naturalnews.com/flu.html">flu</a> shot – contained mercury at a level of 51 parts per million. The Health Ranger notes that this volume of mercury is more than 25,000 times higher than the maximum contaminant level of inorganic <a href="http://www.naturalnews.com/mercury.html">mercury</a> allowed in drinking water, as per the standards set by the EPA.<span><br /><br />Adams writes, "In fact, the concentration of mercury found in this GSK flu shot was 100 times higher than the highest level of mercury we've ever tested in contaminated fish."<br /><br />Sodium deoxycholate is another concerning ingredient that is also featured in many flu vaccines. This chemical is actually a water-soluble ionic detergent and bile salt, and it is also known to promote cell death. Sodium deoxycholate has been shown to weaken the blood-brain barrier, and subsequently lead to seizures. It's thought that the chemical can also induce DNA damage. Synergistic toxicity has also been seen when combined with certain medications. Researchers from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine found that the toxicity of sodium deoxycholate created an inflammatory response that persisted for 10 days following exposure.<br /><br />Neomycin sulfate and polymyxin B are two antibiotic agents that are often featured in flu vaccines. Supposedly, these antibiotics are added to vaccines during manufacturing to prevent bacterial contamination. One would hope that the conditions under which an injected substance is created would be clean and sterile enough not to warrant the addition of antibiotics for "safety," but apparently that may not be the case. Furthermore, given the growing concerns over <a href="http://www.naturalnews.com/039425_gram-negative_superbugs_antibiotics.html">antibiotic resistance</a> in humans, it stands to reason that injecting antibiotics into uninfected individuals is probably not the best idea.<span><br /><br />There are, of course, many other toxic aspects to flu vaccines. Some have alleged, for example that <a href="http://www.naturalnews.com/055301_glyphosate_vaccines_Monsanto.html">glyphosate</a>, the primary ingredient in Roundup, may be present in a number of vaccines.<br /><br />Vaccines are not what the mainstream medical world wants you to believe; they are filled with harmful chemicals that no person would willingly inject into their body. The prevalence of pro-vaccine science truly showcases the increasing need for <a href="http://www.cwclabs.com/">independent science</a>.<span><br /><br />Learn more: <a href="http://www.naturalnews.com/056004_vaccines_toxins_toxic_ingredients.html#ixzz4Q5ihOWPC" style="color: #003399;">http://www.naturalnews.com/056004_vaccines_toxins_toxic_ingredients.html#ixzz4Q5ihOWPC</a></span></span></span></span>HealthAngelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00531965744139396139noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9007009942765224998.post-10801523173105651022016-11-08T05:17:00.001-08:002016-11-08T05:17:19.991-08:00Health insurance policies misinform consumers, tell them chronic conditions are treatable but 'not curable'(NaturalNews) The easiest way to die young and suffer chronic, horrible health conditions along the way, is to eat all the wrong foods daily, consume the chemical toxins prescribed by medical doctors your whole shortened life, and believe what you see and hear on television about medicine and what you read in the newspapers about health. <br />
<br />
Top it all off with regular flu shots, vaccinations, fluoridated tap water and over-the-counter symptom cover-up meds, and you will likely suffer from arthritis, heart disease, hypertension, cancer, and if you live long enough, dementia. The one thing everything just mentioned has in common is that it's all preventable, in spite of the brainwashing by the mass media and the medical doctors of America, who want nothing more than more sick customers for life.<br />
<span><br />
One of the biggest tricks with <a href="http://www.toxins.news/">toxic food and chemical medicine</a> is to state a lie as if it were the truth, and then discuss details of the lie, as if that's all that is left to consider. Example: Health insurance policies openly state that illnesses like arthritis, heart disease and hypertension are incurable, and then have you consider which health insurance policy would best fit you and your family's financial needs. It's like telling you that you will certainly die of cancer, and since there's "no cure," you might as well start picking out which type of chemotherapy works best for you. Another lie would be to have you assume that inflammation is a disease, like hormone imbalance or obesity, so now it's time to choose which medicine "works best for you" and "ask your doctor" if it's right for you and your "symptoms."<br />
<span><br /><strong>Health insurance policies state that arthritis, heart disease and hypertension are treatable but 'not curable' illnesses</strong><br />
Health insurance in the USA is built around treatments invented by Big Pharma that prevent and cure nothing. Sure, if you break a limb or need emergency surgery <a href="http://www.naturalnews.com/insurance.html">insurance</a> can come in handy, but if you eat processed and GMO food daily, and you take prescription medications daily, you can expect more chronic conditions to relentlessly attack your system, no matter what the doctor prescribes, no matter what the surgeon removes, and no matter what the <a href="http://www.naturalnews.com/health_insurance.html">health insurance</a> does or doesn't cover. It's as simple as that. Now it's time to talk about some positive subjects, ones the medical industrial complex and health insurance policies don't want you to understand.<br />
<span><br /><strong>Heart disease is curable!</strong><br />
One hundred years ago in America, nary a human suffered from heart disease. It's preventable and curable with a plant-based diet, no matter what your MD tells you. Ready to cure yours or prevent it from ever becoming an issue? Save this article and use it as a shopping guide.<br /><br />Remember this: <a href="http://www.naturalnews.com/034483_fried_foods_health_damage.html">Fried foods clog arteries </a>and lead to strokes and Alzheimer's. Clogged veins and arteries cause heart attacks and aneurysms. Arterial plaque increases blood pressure. Potatoes and most bread (buns/pizza crust/pitas/tortillas, etc.) soak up the canola oil and turn to sugar in the stomach. Modified, processed and <a href="http://www.naturalnews.com/034483_fried_foods_health_damage.html">fried foods don't break down properly in the body</a>, remaining in the kidneys, liver, intestines, prostate and colon for extended periods of time, if not forever. Gluten (mutant food glue) is used for pizza crust, fried seafood, pre-prepared Chinese food, corn dogs, crackers, pastries, cakes ... and the list is a mile long. Stop clogging your veins and arteries with junk science, and concentrate on organic, <a href="http://nutritionfacts.org/2016/05/10/plant-based-diets-for-hypertension/">plant-based foods</a>, and watch your heart "disease" disappear forever.<span><br /><br />Learn more: <a href="http://www.naturalnews.com/055927_health_insurance_hypertension_curable_diseases.html#ixzz4PQHRxhcl" style="color: #003399;">http://www.naturalnews.com/055927_health_insurance_hypertension_curable_diseases.html#ixzz4PQHRxhcl</a></span><br />Learn more: <a href="http://www.naturalnews.com/055927_health_insurance_hypertension_curable_diseases.html#ixzz4PQHHEkpy" style="color: #003399;">http://www.naturalnews.com/055927_health_insurance_hypertension_curable_diseases.html#ixzz4PQHHEkpy</a></span><br />Learn more: <a href="http://www.naturalnews.com/055927_health_insurance_hypertension_curable_diseases.html#ixzz4PQH7kmhG" style="color: #003399;">http://www.naturalnews.com/055927_health_insurance_hypertension_curable_diseases.html#ixzz4PQH7kmhG</a></span><br />Learn more: <a href="http://www.naturalnews.com/055927_health_insurance_hypertension_curable_diseases.html#ixzz4PQGlIGGw" style="color: #003399;">http://www.naturalnews.com/055927_health_insurance_hypertension_curable_diseases.html#ixzz4PQGlIGGw</a></span><br />HealthAngelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00531965744139396139noreply@blogger.com0
